Celebrating freedom. Inspiring futures. Building community. ā¤ļøšŸ’ššŸ–¤

The Frederick County Commission for Women was honored to join the Frederick County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for their annual Community Day and Juneteenth Celebration. Inspired by the remarkable young women from our most recent SheLEADS cohort, we were especially excited to share information about the FCC/FCPS Early College and Dual Enrollment programs—opportunities that empower students to get a head start on their college and career journeys.

From meaningful conversations to connecting families with valuable educational resources, the day was filled with inspiration, learning, and community engagement.

Together, we’re helping the next generation of leaders dream bigger and achieve more.

On June 19, we commemorate Juneteenth, the day that marked the end of slavery in the United States and a pivotal moment in our nation's history.

The Frederick County Commission for Women honors the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black women—past, present, and future—whose leadership, advocacy, and perseverance continue to shape our communities and inspire progress.

As we celebrate freedom and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice, we recognize the importance of learning from our history while working together to build a more inclusive future for all.

Today, we honor. We remember. We celebrate.

June is National Immigrant Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the countless contributions immigrants have made—and continue to make—to our communities, our economy, and our nation.

The Frederick County Commission for Women proudly honors the diverse stories, cultures, talents, and experiences that immigrants bring to our community. Immigrant women, in particular, have long demonstrated extraordinary resilience, leadership, and determination while helping to strengthen families, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods.

This month, we celebrate the courage of those who have journeyed to build new lives, the rich cultural traditions they share, and the many ways they enrich Frederick County and beyond.

By embracing diversity and fostering inclusion, we create stronger communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Join us in celebrating National Immigrant Heritage Month and the individuals whose stories continue to shape the fabric of our community.
