FFD also provides EMS assistance with our local EMS agency Tillman County EMS.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across Comanche County today

Strong winds and very low humidity mean any spark can become a fast-moving wildfire.

Today is not a day to burn or take chances.

To protect our community:

• Do not burn
• Postpone welding or grinding
• Secure trailer chains
• Do not park in dry grass

If you see smoke or flames, call it in immediately.
Do not assume someone else has reported it.

With the approaching winter weather, the safety of our citizens and fellow first responders are of the utmost importance.

We ask that safe and responsible heating practices be utilized as we all try to stay warm. As the temperatures drop be mindful of your neighbors, remember to check in on them. Listed below are some heating tips and practices. Use safe distances from heaters, generators, and fireplaces. Avoid the use of extension cords and check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

We also ask that travel be limited to absolutely necessary travel and that we all do our best to stay off the roads during hazardous conditions. In the case you must travel, use safe driving practices. Allow plenty of time for travel and drive with extra caution. Remember, just because the roads may look clear there is always a chance of black ice.

It is that time of year again! Food Box sign up! Open now through December 19th. This is a tradition the Firefighters at Frederick Fire Department have kept going for what will be its 42nd year. This is our way to give back to our community and to help close the gap for those in need. We take great pride in this longstanding tradition. If helping to give back is something you’d like to do, we would be so appreciative of any monetary donation contributed. Each donation helps to extend our hand in helping our local families.
