PARKING ADVISORY | AUGUST 31 - SEPTEMBER 3

The City of Frederick will close the roof level of the Church Street Parking Deck from Monday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3 to complete essential spot repairs.

During this period, the parking deck will remain open, but the roof and several parking spaces under the roof level will be temporarily blocked off to ensure vehicle and pedestrian safety while work is underway.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to maintain the safety and quality of our parking facilities.

The Zoning Board of Appeals met August 25 and took up five conditional use requests, including entertainment hours at restaurants and breweries and a ground floor office-to-apartment conversion. The City of Frederick is launching its Strategic Cultural Planning process and wants to hear from the community.

Over the next nine months, the City will work with Designing Local, a national arts and culture planning firm, to gather input from residents, artists, cultural organizations, and other community stakeholders. The goal is to develop a strategic framework for arts and culture investments and expand access to creative expression throughout the city.

Residents and stakeholders can participate by completing a brief online survey. Learn more about the process and share your input at frederickmd.gov/culturalplan.

The City of Frederick is honoring the life and legacy of former Alderman Richard C. “Dick” Brady, who served on the Board of Aldermen from 1974 to 1978 during a consequential period in Frederick’s history.

In recognition of his service to the City, flags at City properties will be lowered to half-staff beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 27, through Monday, Aug. 31.
