This is an opportunity to connect with officers, discuss neighborhood concerns, ask questions, and hear updates on public safety topics impacting Frederick neighborhoods.

Your daily dog walk could help make Frederick safer. Dog Walker Watch is a community partnership program with the Frederick Police Department that encourages residents to stay alert and report suspicious activity while out walking their dogs.

Next training session:
Wednesday, June 10 at 10 am

If you enjoy walking your dog around Frederick, you can help keep our neighborhoods safe by joining the Frederick Police Departmentโ€™s Dog Walker Watch program.

Participants will learn:
- How to spot suspicious activity
- When to call 911
- Reporting tips and safety reminders
- Dog-related ordinances and regulations
- Basic canine emergency care, including CPR and the Heimlich maneuver

Upcoming training sessions are held on Wednesdays at 10 am:
- June 10
- July 8
- August 12

Congratulations to Andrew Fairbanks on his recent promotion to Sergeant! With more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement, much of Andyโ€™s career has been spent with the Town of Frederick, where he has proudly served the community since 2009.

Andyโ€™s dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact throughout his career. He has served as a SWAT officer, K9 deputy, K9 handler, and School Resource Officer (SRO). Most recently, many students and families have come to know Andy through his role as an SRO, where he focused on mentorship, relationship-building, and helping students make positive choices.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice and unwavering dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy today will never be forgotten.

We also recognize the military families, veterans, and active-duty service members in our community who continue to carry the legacy of service and sacrifice forward each day.

Calling all Frederick dog walkers! The Frederick Police Departmentโ€™s 2026 Dog Walker Watch program is back and looking for community members to help serve as extra eyes and ears while out walking their dogs.

Dog Walker Watch is a free community safety program that partners residents with law enforcement to help keep neighborhoods safe, informed, and connected.

Participants will attend a brief training with the Frederick Police Department covering:
- Spotting suspicious behavior
- When to call 911
- Reporting tips
- Safety reminders
- Frederick animal ordinances and dog regulations
- Basic dog emergency care, including canine CPR and the Heimlich maneuver

2026 Training Dates:
- Wednesday, June 10 at 10 am

- Wednesday, August 12 at 10 am
