The Tillman County Sheriff's Office is investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Grandfield area during the early morning hours today.

We are posting photos of individuals we would like to identify in connection with this investigation. If you recognize these individuals or have any information related to these incidents, please contact the Tillman County Sheriff's Office at 580-335-3013 and press 1 for Dispatch.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
It seems like every day we are posting about scams, but unfortunately people continue to lose thousands of dollars to scam artists.
Today, two Tillman County residents reported different scam attempts. One involved a fake Publishers Clearing House prize where the victim was sent a check and told to pay taxes and fees on a supposed $750,000 prize. Another involved a caller claiming to be a U.S. Marshal who instructed a resident to send $4,000 to avoid being arrested.
The best way we can prevent these scams is by spreading awareness. Please take a few minutes to warn your family, friends, neighbors, and especially elderly loved ones about these types of scams.
A simple conversation could save someone from losing their hard-earned money.

While we have not received any reports of this occurring in Tillman County yet, scams like this often spread from community to community. Staying informed is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones.

A resident in the area of Hwy 36 and approximately one mile north of Loveland Rd (CREW 186) had several dogs wander onto their property during the rainstorm this morning.

If these dogs belong to you, please reach out so we can help get them reunited with their owner. Please share this post to help spread the word.

SCAM ALERT ⚠️

Residents are advised to be on the lookout for scam phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to be members of local law enforcement.

These callers may tell you that you have missed jury duty, have an outstanding warrant, owe fines, or are involved in an investigation. Their goal is to scare you into providing personal identifying information, banking information, or sending money.

Please remember:• Law enforcement will not call and demand payment over the phone.• We will not request gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or other unusual forms of payment.• Never provide personal information such as your Social Security number, bank account information, or passwords to unsolicited callers.

If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from law enforcement, hang up and contact your local agency directly using a verified phone number.

OSBI INVESTIGATES OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN TILLMAN COUNTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MAY 29, 2026

GRANDFIELD, OK – On May 28, 2026, the Tillman County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate an officer-involved shooting.

Earlier that day, the Tillman County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an individual who reported that a firearm had been stolen by a man in a black truck. Based on the information and evidence gathered, the suspect was identified as 35-year-old Christian Blanco Rodriguez.

The Grandfield Police Department located Rodriguez in Grandfield and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Rodriguez fled, leading to a short pursuit.

Rodriguez eventually stopped his vehicle in the middle of the roadway and brandished a weapon. Rodriguez then fled to his residence in the 700 block of 2nd Street in Grandfield.

The Tillman County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to the residence to assist.

Rodriguez emerged from the home and pointed a firearm at law enforcement personnel, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.

Rodriguez then entered back into the residence, where the OHP Tactical Team discovered him deceased. There were no other injuries during the altercation and this is still an ongoing investigation.

The OSBI appreciates the Tillman County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Grandfield Police Department for their continued assistance with this investigation.

Please do NOT respond to these messages or provide any personal or financial information electronically.

If you believe you may owe a fine or need to verify information, independently look up the official phone number for the agency or department and contact them directly.
