Spark Discovery Preschool of St. Vrain Since '13, Spark! Discovery Preschool, a STEM-focused preschooland childcare, in the St. Spark!

Vrain Valley School District --Carbon Valley areas of: Frederick, Firestone, & Dacono. Discovery Preschool, a STEM-focused preschool, opened in 2013, in Frederick, as a part of St. Vrain Valley Schools and presents comprehensive program focused on STEM practices, innovation, the design-thinking process, inquiry-based le

arning, & PK Maker-space. We are the public preschool option by StVrain Schools for families in Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono. We offer 1/2 day preschool for 4 days a week, or a full day options for those who qualify. Preschoolers must be age three by October 1 to be eligible to attend in any school year. We also offer childcare from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Mon- Fri, following the preschool district calendar each year.

OUR CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR is... DRUM ROLL PLEASE... NICKIE DRIETH!!!

We are proud to recognize Nickie Drieth as our Classified Employee of the Year! She is a dedicated, hardworking preschool paraprofessional at Spark! Discovery Preschool in collaboration with Amy Newsom and Lisa Anderson during the 2025–2026 school year.

She approaches every interaction with staff, students, and families with positivity, compassion, and professionalism, making her an invaluable and collaborative member of our school community. She demonstrates remarkable flexibility, patience, and understanding of our youngest learners, while consistently supporting students with care and encouragement. Her exceptional behavior management strategies and strong relationships with students help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment each day.

She has been part of St. Vrain Valley School District for 12 years, serving in childcare at Spark! Discovery Preschool before transitioning into preschool, where this marks her third year in the classroom. Her dedication to early childhood education and commitment to students shine through in all that she does.

In addition to this school-based recognition, she will also be honored at the SVVSD Welcome Back Ceremony in August 2026 as part of the district’s recognition for classified staff.

We had the FHS grad walk today— an amazing SVVSD tradition, which honors the efforts and achievements of our high schoolers! Thanks for o Dr Fox for his terrific organization and for all the seniors for high fives, giving knuckles; and being such great models for out youngest learners.
