WHY JOIN? If you value patriotism, responsible citizenship, volunteerism and advocacy for veterans, the military and their families, you will feel right at home in the American Legion Auxiliary. You can educate school children about our nation’s flag, assemble care packages to send to our troops, or volunteer at your local VA Medical Center. Why We Matter
The 2013 estimated value of one hour of volunteer service is $22.55, according to the Independent Sector, a coalition of charities, foundations, and corporations that publishes research important to the nonprofit sector. American Legion Auxiliary members have volunteered more than 9.3 million hours for a collective value of service to our veterans, servicemembers, and their families of more than $2.1 billion.
