Pecan Creek Community Club has lost a long-time member, Eldon Ray Feller. Eldon always attended club meetings and was an enthusiastic card player until health issues limited his activities. We will miss him dearly

Eldon Ray Oswald Feller passed away Sunday, June 21st, 2026 at the age of 90 years. Born on June 6th, 1936 in the Crabapple community to Helen Heimann and Clarence Feller, he was baptized at St. Johns Church on July 26th, 1936. On August 28th, 1949, he affirmed his baptism in the rite of confirmation, having the selected bible passage from Psalm 34 verse 8: "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him".
Eldon Ray married Helen Ruth Friedrich on September 12th, 1959 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas. They lived in Fredericksburg during the early years of their marriage, and then later moved to the Pecan Creek area in the Texas Hill Country.
Growing up in Crabapple, he and his five siblings went to the local school and worked as ranchers and farmers. Eldon went to Fredericksburg High School, graduating in 1955. During these years, he loved ranching, horseback riding, and playing sports, particularly baseball, softball and football. He enlisted and served for 10 years in the National Guard.
Eldon Ray worked at his uncles plumbing and pump store for a few years, then at Mooney Aircraft in Kerrville afterwards. Later he and Helen purchased Lone Star Pump Service from his uncle, successfully running the company over the years. A big focus of the business was water well drilling that he did throughout the area, having drilled around 349 wells – which was right at 116,184 feet. He ended his working career by serving 12 years as Gillespie County Commissioner.
Eldon Ray is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Ruth Friedrich, and children, son Gordon (Renita) Feller of Austin, daughter Sharon (Henry) Millsap of Aransas Pass; and his four granddaughters: Brittany (Johnathan) Seaman of Boerne, Rachel (Sterling) Showalter of Austin, Erin Feller of Los Angeles and Katlin (Kye) Raute of Kerrville along with six great grandchildren. He has 2 living sisters Joyce Nebgen and Carol Kraus. He is proceeded in death by his brothers Belton Feller, Jarvis Feller and his sister Gladis Pehl.
Visitation will be held at Fredericksburg Funeral Home on Monday, June 29th 4pm to 6pm. On Tuesday, June 30th, visitation at Bethany Lutheran Church will be at 10am, the funeral service at 11am and a social gathering following afterwards. A private interment ceremony will be at the Friedrich Cemetery at 1:30pm. Honorary pallbearers are the granddaughters. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bethany Lutheran Church Foundation, The Freidrich Cemetery or a charity of one’s choice.
Eldon Ray will be missed by all of his family and friends throughout the Hill Country, the place he loved so much. And special thanks to Bethany Lutheran Church for all of the support during these last few years.
