At the Fredericksburg Police Department, training is more than a requirement—it's a commitment to our community and to one another.

This week, our officers participated in advanced ALERRT training, working together to sharpen critical skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare for the challenges of modern policing. Continuous training helps ensure our officers are equipped to respond professionally, confidently, and effectively when our community needs them most.

A special thank you to the community volunteers who donated their time to assist with training scenarios. Their participation helps create realistic training environments that better prepare our officers for real-world situations. We are grateful for their willingness to support public safety in such a meaningful way.

If you're looking for a career that values professional development, teamwork, and service, we invite you to learn more about joining our department. We are committed to investing in our people and providing opportunities for growth throughout their careers.

What a great day at the 21st Annual Car Fest hosted by the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary!

Our officers enjoyed spending time with community members, visiting with fellow first responders, and sharing the day with family and friends while admiring an incredible collection of vehicles.

Events like Car Fest provide a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships, connect with the people we serve, and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes Fredericksburg such a special place.

Thank you to the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary for another outstanding event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

The Fredericksburg Police Department has received reports of a scam targeting residents through pop-up messages appearing on their computers.

These notifications often claim to be from Microsoft or a "Microsoft Pop-Up Blocker" and may warn that your computer has been compromised, infected with a virus, or that your personal information is at risk. Victims are then instructed to call a phone number or use a Bitcoin ATM to send money in exchange for assistance or "protection."

🚫 This is a scam.

Before taking any action, stop and think about what is being requested. Legitimate companies will not require payment through Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency to fix computer issues or provide technical support.

🔹 Do not call phone numbers provided in suspicious pop-ups.
🔹 Do not allow unknown individuals remote access to your computer.
🔹 Do not send money through Bitcoin ATMs or cryptocurrency transactions.
🔹 If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts.

If you believe you may be the target of a scam or have already provided information or money, contact the Fredericksburg Police Department's non-emergency line at (830) 990-8793.

Help us spread the word by sharing this post with friends and family, especially those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

Chief Vorauer was honored to participate in this morning’s Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Leaders Breakfast alongside representatives from our local first responder agencies.

The program provided an opportunity for the Fredericksburg Police Department, Fire/EMS, and the Sheriff's Office to share updates on their operations, discuss current public safety initiatives, and highlight the collaborative efforts that help keep our community safe.

Thank you to the Chamber for hosting this important discussion and to everyone who attended. Strong partnerships between first responders, local organizations, and the community are essential to ensuring Fredericksburg remains a safe and welcoming place for all.

Building relationships within our community extends beyond emergency response.

Our officers were glad to stop by and support these young volleyball players at their bake sale. We are proud to support local youth programs and the opportunities they provide for the next generation of Fredericksburg residents.
