Would like to take this time to say Thank You to Gillespie County Mental Health Deputy James Kruse.

We received a letter regarding MH Deputy Kruse assisting a family with getting the help they needed for a loved one in a mental health crisis.

With MH Deputy Kruse and the family working together the family member was able to get the help needed.

The GCSO along with many great county mental health agencies are committed to those who struggle with Mental Health!

During the Stonewall Peach Jamboree in June a ring was found at the event.

We have waited, hoping someone would reach out looking for the ring.

We had a special customer picking out his own treats! All our customers are special but this guy can pick up your scent and chase you down! Luckily he was nice to us, we were on our best behavior! 🐕 ❤️ 🐕 We appreciate ALL our law enforcement!

Highway 87 Road Construction Zone:

The construction crews will not be in the area over the next three days due to the start of school.

There will be no stop lights active as well!

We are thankful to them for this decision!

The “SPEED LIMIT IS STILL 55mph” in area posted. There is loose gravel signs posted and construction barrels and cones.

Drive safely and still leave early due to speed reduction.

They will continue work next week and they are working to be done by the end of August.

The Big Yellow Buses are Back!!

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office will be out and about tomorrow patrolling making sure school buses are being watched.

There will a big change in the county as students are heading back to school for a new year.

We ask that you be aware of school buses stopping, picking up students and observe all flashing red lights on the buses.

Help keep our children going back to school safe!

Back to School for these two Gillespie County Deputies School Resource Officers.

SRO Deputy Wayne Hudson will be assigned to the Stonewall Elementary School.

SRO Deputy Preston Schmidt will be at the Fredericksburg Elementary School.

We will be working along side the Fredericksburg Police Department SROs making sure our students are safe while attending school.

We want to welcome back all schools in Gillespie County for the 2026-2027 school year!!
