Fredericktown Elementary School

Fredericktown Elementary School Welcome to Fredericktown Elementary School! We will also monitor students’ progress and share it with parents throughout the year. Mr. Joe Clauser, Principal

Our teachers and staff are looking forward to providing your student many exciting and engaging opportunities this year. We continue to implement Response to Intervention (RtI) to provide opportunities for students to get assistance on various skills in math and reading. Our school has once again been recognized as a SILVER level Positive Behavior Support (PBS) school. We have adopted behavior exp

ectations for various areas that encourage our students to learn, practice, and be recognized for being respectful, responsible learners. We invite you to visit with your child’s teacher to learn more about PBS and our behavior expectations. We understand how important it is for your child to experience a positive and rewarding start to the educational process. Each child will receive guidance in behavior, character building opportunities, and learning experiences that will meet the needs of all students. We look forward to meeting every parent/guardian, and we will provide numerous activities and opportunities that will allow for your participation.

🚨 Attendance Spotlight 🚨

Fredericktown Elementary School has a special student who knows all about perfect attendance! Soon to be second grader Lynlee Spangler has not missed a day of school since she has started! In both kindergarten and first grade, Lynlee has had perfect attendance. We asked her how she does it and she said, “I like school. I like to see my friends. Recess is my favorite part of the day and reading is my favorite subject to learn!” We also know it couldn’t happen without the help and support of her parents! Thank you Lynlee for making school a priority! Mr. Clauser said he hasn’t had a student with perfect attendance all three years in a row since he became the principal here 11 years ago. We are excited for this possibility!

Students at FES take attendance seriously and so do the teachers and staff. Missing school means missing out on instruction, so to help keep things flowing smoothly in the classroom we set a building wide goal for all of our students to be in attendance 90% of the time at the very least. Our students rose to the challenge and 331 students out of 348 met this goal with 210 students reaching more than 95%. We are hoping to continue to see a rise in these numbers next year! We try to incorporate individual and classroom challenges as well as rewards and incentives to encourage students to be here everyday they are able! The month of May brought the May’k It Count challenge. Students who didn’t miss a minute of school were entered into a drawing per grade level for the chance to win a $50 gift card to Walmart. Our winners were:

Kindergarten- Maddilynn Ferrer
1st Grade - Phillip Weaver
2nd Grade - Paxton Sikes

With the school year finally coming to close, we want to celebrate a major achievement here at FES! We had eight students with perfect attendance this year! Mae Lamb, Maverick Sutton, Evan Brewen, William Bittle, Weston Abt, Lynlee Spangler, Samuel Huckaba, & Silas Pipkin didn’t miss a day of school the entire year! That’s something to celebrate because it’s not an easy task. It takes both our students and parents to make sure they are here everyday they can be, on time and ready to learn. Mr. Clauser rewarded each student with a crisp new $50 dollar bill! Congratulations and way to go! Outstanding! 👏👏👏

With just one more day in the 2025-2026 school year, Mrs. Clauser made her famous cupcakes for our staff and Mr. Clauser hand delivered on the trolly cart as to show his appreciation for another successful year here at FES! The hardest part was deciding on which cupcake to choose! Staff enjoyed the option of Tasty Sea Salt Caramel, Rich Double Chocolate, Sweet Strawberry Delight, Creative Cookies & Creme, Vanilla Latte, and Coconut Craze! We are so thankful for the delicious treat and look forward to this annual tradition! Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Clauser for the pick me up!

This week, students were able to earn blue tickets for exceptional behavior. Each day, we focused on one of our character words from the year. On Friday, we drew a blue ticket for a summer fun basket, and Roman was the lucky winner!

One of our favorite evenings of the school year is our annual Art Show, Book Fair, and Title Parent Night. Students and their families came out yesterday evening to see the masterpieces they have created this year, shop for books to add to their home libraries, and enjoy games, popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s event a huge success!
