Fredericktown Elementary School

Fredericktown Elementary School Welcome to Fredericktown Elementary School! We will also monitor students’ progress and share it with parents throughout the year. Mr. Joe Clauser, Principal
(5)

Our teachers and staff are looking forward to providing your student many exciting and engaging opportunities this year. We continue to implement Response to Intervention (RtI) to provide opportunities for students to get assistance on various skills in math and reading. Our school has once again been recognized as a SILVER level Positive Behavior Support (PBS) school. We have adopted behavior exp

ectations for various areas that encourage our students to learn, practice, and be recognized for being respectful, responsible learners. We invite you to visit with your child’s teacher to learn more about PBS and our behavior expectations. We understand how important it is for your child to experience a positive and rewarding start to the educational process. Each child will receive guidance in behavior, character building opportunities, and learning experiences that will meet the needs of all students. We look forward to meeting every parent/guardian, and we will provide numerous activities and opportunities that will allow for your participation.

Spring is here, and we're starting to make plans for next year. We are giving you a chance to provide input on your child's class placement for next year. Use the link below to fill out the online form to request three teachers.

Parent requests should be based on who you feel will work best with your child. Please keep in mind that students are assigned to classrooms based on academic levels, the ratio of boys to girls, mobility, etc. It is the school’s intent to honor parent requests, but unfortunately we cannot always do so.

Teacher assignments for next year will be announced on May 21.

Forms are due April 19. Late forms will not be accepted.

What does the staff at FES do on a half-day after all the kids are gone? We break out the water guns and dodgeballs! But there was a purpose for our play this afternoon.

We strive every day to make our school safe for our students and staff. Today, we reviewed procedures to use in case there is an intruder in the building. We talked about options including lockdown, countering the intruder, and evacuating.

The water gun and dodgeballs were used to start a conversation about distracting an intruder to keep everyone safe and give time to escape an unsafe situation. We really appreciate Officer Lunsford and the commitment she has to keep us safe!

We celebrated our third district Wellness Day today. Office staff gave students an extra recess this morning while teachers enjoyed an extra break, and all staff were treated to apple nachos and a water bar to stay refreshed through the day. At FES, we believe that is important for everyone to set aside some time to focus on physical, mental and emotional well-being!

Join us for Wellness Day on Wednesday, March 24. This quarter, we are challenging participants to PERSEVERE: Just Keep Going!

There are so many healthy activities that we can participate in. The key is to work through challenges we might face such as not having enough time or fear of starting something new. Push yourself and success will be right around the corner!
