East Bethlehem Township is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the freestanding Ashland Gas Station sign structure located in Fredericktown Pennsylvania. The sign is being sold as is, where is with no warranties expressed or implied. Successful bidder will be responsible for removal of the sign and pole by a qualified contractor. Proof of insurance must be provided. Successful bidder must complete removal within 30 days. Sealed bid must include bidders name, address, contact number and bid amount. Bids may be mailed to East Bethlehem Township PO Box 687, Fredericktown PA 15333 or dropped off at the Township Office. Envelope must be clearly marked "Ashland Sign Bid". Bids will be accepted until 4:00PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the East Bethlehem Township Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 6:00PM. Milfred Terrace gas line replacement continues this week. Crews are working on Stadium Road, Tennis Court Road and Oak Street from Millsboro Road to Piersol Avenue. Construction crews will accommodate anyone needing to get through. There is a traffic control person posted at all road entrances. Let them know where you need to be and they'll get you there.

GAS LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO BEGIN!
Columbia Gas will be replacing approximately 20,000 feet of gas line in Fredericktown and Millsboro. The project area is from Luna Street to Millsboro Avenue. There will be inconveniences, delays, traffic congestion, detours and other issues...but in the end we will have new gas line to replace the 80+ year old lines that are currently in the ground and restored roadways. Please be patient. Construction is expected to begin late January- early February - weather permitting.

The 2026 East Bethlehem Township Budget has been passed with NO TAX INCREASE. This is for East Bethlehem Township property taxes only. Taxes are expected to be mailed out in late February/early March. The 2026 trash collection rate for residential service is $24.94 per month. Property owners over the age of 55 are encouraged to apply for a 15% discount by providing proof of age at the Township Office. The East Bethlehem Township Board of Commissioners meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Township Building, 36 Water Street, Fredericktown. Residents are always welcome to attend meetings and get involved!

We have openings on three of our boards - The East Bethlehem Township Municipal Authority, the Vestaburg New Hill Joint Sewer Authority and the East Bethlehem Township Zoning Hearing Board. Letters of interest are due by 4PM on Wednesday December 10, 2025. Contact the Township Office for more information.

There have been reports of "roofing companies" soliciting door-to-door. Please be vigilant when opening your door to strangers. It is recommended to post a NO SOLICITING sign near your door. At this time, there are no door-to-door soliciting permits issued in East Bethlehem Township.

Effective today, October 1, 2025, the temporary burn ban in East Bethlehem Township has been lifted. East Bethlehem Township residents are reminded that burning is permitted from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday and Saturday only. Only permitted "burnable" materials may be burned. This includes paper, cardboard, chipboard and unpainted or untreated wood.
