The Madison County Commission will hold a public meeting to provide information and answer questions about Proposition A, the Madison County Subscriber Fee, which will appear on the ballot at the upcoming election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The meeting will be held at the Madison County Justice Center on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 6:30 P.M.. Light refreshments will be served.

The Subscriber Fee is a proposed $1.00 per month surcharge on all cell phones and other communication devices that is capable of calling E-911 in the event of an emergency. If the issue passes, the monthly tax on land lines phones will be terminated.

Currently the E-911 service in Madison County operates with over a $200,000.00 deficit threatening the long term stability of emergency dispatch services.

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more, and ask questions directly to the Commissioners.
