The Fredonia, NY Fire Department is a dedicated combination fire department, uniting career and volunteer firefighters under the leadership of a Career Fire Chief The Fredonia Fire Department has 1 paid Fire Chief, 3 assistant Chiefs,1 career Captain, 3 career Lieutenants, 6 career Firefighter/Paramedics, 4 career Firefighter/EMT, and 3 part-time Firefighter/Paramedics and about 30 active Volun
teers, some of which are also Paramedics and EMT'S. The Department has 3 Pumpers E-12, E-14, E-15, (1) 103 foot Ladder Tower- Tower-18, 1 Tanker TA-11, 2 ALS Ambulances R-12, R-15, 1 Large Miscellaneous truck M-15,1 small miscellaneous truck M-17, 2 Chief/Command vehicles Car-11 and M-19 (M-19 is used by the Assistant Chiefs when they are on duty). The command structure is 1 paid chief, 3 assistant chiefs, 1 paid Captain, 3 paid lieutenants and 2 Volunteer lieutenants. Our district ranges from urban to rural, including 16 miles of interstate 90, a NYS college campus, many industries and housing complexes. We have many 3 and 4 story buildings as well as an 11 story building on campus. We have a large downtown business district and cover a combined population of about 22,000 people in the Village, campus and the surrounding Town., with our coverage area being 52 square miles. We are dispatched by the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Office 911 dispatch center, which dispatches all Fire Departments and most Police Departments within the County.
