Last night, members of the East Freehold Fire Company had the honor of attending the Monmouth County graduation ceremony of our fellow member, Vincent Caprio, at Brookdale Community College.

We are incredibly proud of Vinny's hard work, dedication, and achievement in reaching this important milestone. His commitment to both his education and service to our community is truly commendable.

🚒Training Together for the Unexpected

This past Sunday, members of the East Freehold Fire Company participated in the Western Monmouth Pipeline Drill at the Freehold Raceway Mall alongside firefighters from eight other agencies, bringing a total of nine departments together for this large-scale training exercise.

The Western Monmouth Pipeline is a regional water supply operation designed to deliver large volumes of water over long distances using interconnected large-diameter hose. These operations are critical when hydrant systems are limited, water demands exceed local capabilities, or incidents occur in areas where a reliable water source must be established from a distance.

Drills like this allow firefighters to practice the rapid deployment of equipment, coordination between multiple agencies, and the establishment of a sustained water supply under realistic conditions. Working together in advance ensures that when a major emergency occurs, crews can operate safely and efficiently as one team.

Training opportunities like these strengthen our ability to protect the residents and businesses of our communities.

Engine 16-2-78 is currently out of town covering Howell Township Fire District #5 (Freewood Acres Fire Company No. 1) while they are operating at a structure fire. Our members our standing by with Glendola Fire Company at station 19-5.

If you were caught in some traffic on county road 55 yesterday, here’s why! At approximately 5 PM, our volunteer firefighters responded to the intersection of Kozloski and Center street for a reported vehicle fire. When units arrived, a fully involved pickup truck was right outside of the East Freehold Showgrounds. While we have a sufficient water supply with our hydrants throughout the district, Adelphia Fire Company had members driver training on their tanker and followed the smoke! They assisted engine 16-2-78 and the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported from the incident.

Last night members of the East Freehold Fire Company conducted a walkthrough of the Iron Mountain storage facility to become more familiar with the building layout, fire protection systems, hazards, and operational procedures in the event of an emergency response.

The walkthrough provided firefighters with valuable knowledge of:

* Building access points and security procedures
* Storage configurations and high-density record storage areas
* Fire suppression and alarm systems
* Utility shutoffs and emergency controls
* Evacuation routes and employee safety procedures

Training opportunities like this help improve firefighter preparedness, incident safety, and coordination with facility staff should a fire or other emergency occur at the location.

A few days ago, the members of the East Freehold Fire Company responded to a working structure fire within Freehold Township Fire District #2. During fire suppression operations, a MAYDAY was transmitted for a firefighter in distress. Thanks to the rapid actions, training, and coordinated efforts of crews on scene, the member was quickly removed from the structure and transported to a local trauma center for evaluation and treatment. We are happy to report that the firefighter was released later that evening.

No other firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.

Incidents such as these serve as a reminder of the dangers firefighters face each and every day while protecting our community. We are extremely proud of the professionalism displayed by all personnel operating on scene.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all mutual aid departments and agencies that assisted during this incident. Your teamwork, manpower, and support were invaluable.

The fire was investigated by the Freehold Township Fire Bureau in conjunction with the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.

16-2-90 was called into district 1 for a structure fire the other day. It doesn’t matter where we are or what time of day it is, when we are called, we show up! While operating at the scene, the high wind conditions ignited nearby brush. 16-2-73 responded and worked in conjunction with New Jersey Forest Fire Service and mitigated the wild fire.

Today once again we had the honor of being invited to the Marine Corp recruits training at East Freehold Park Showgrounds. This year they landed a V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor Aircraft. This is our 4th being invited and it never gets old!

Otherwise known as Putting It All Together Day is one of the last days for the recruits in the Firefighter One class at the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office and Fire Academy. We’re proud to say that one of our probationary firefighters is one of those recruits! Vinny C. is almost done with 270 hour course, getting ready to start his journey in the Firefighter Two class. Just one step closer to being a NJ certified firefighter! Congratulations Vinny and the rest of class 144!
