Today, we join our community and the nation in celebrating Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day.
On June 19, 1865, freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texasโ€”marking a monumental step forward in our country's history.
At the Monmouth County Fire Marshalโ€™s Office and Fire Academy, our mission is to protect, serve, train and uplift every single member of our diverse community. Today is a day to reflect on our shared history, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to liberty and justice for all.
Wishing everyone a safe, meaningful, and happy Juneteenth! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

Today, June 14, we celebrate Flag Day!
At the firehouse across Monmouth County, our flag flies daily as a symbol of pride, community, and the freedom we swear to protect. If you are displaying Old Glory at your home today, here are a few quick reminders for proper flag etiquette:
๐ŸŒž Sunup to Sundown: Customarily, the flag should only be displayed from sunrise to sunset unless it is properly illuminated at night.
โ›ˆ๏ธ Weather Check: Bring your flag indoors during severe weather, unless you are flying an all-weather nylon flag.
๐Ÿ” Position of Honor: When displayed with other flags, the U.S. flag should always be at the center and at the highest point of the group.
We wish everyone in Monmouth County a proud and safe Flag Day!

Please join us in celebrating the newest graduates from the Monmouth County Fire Academy!

We want to send a huge congratulations to Firefighter I Class 144 and Firefighter II Class 230. These brave individuals officially graduated after a lot of hard work. To earn this honor, the students went through tough physical training. They studied hard in the classroom and practiced on the drill-grounds. They showed true teamwork, discipline, and a strong desire to help others. We are very thankful for their choice to protect our communities.

We also want to thank the academy instructors, local fire departments, and the families who supported these recruits along the way.

To all the graduates, welcome to the fire service family. We wish you a very long, successful, and safe career. Thank you for stepping up to keep Monmouth County safe!

โ˜€๏ธ Pools, lakes, and beaches are open for the summer! Before you dive in, make sure your family follows these essential water safety rules:
๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ Designate a Water Watcher: Never leave children unattended around water. Assign a sober adult to keep eyes on the pool at all timesโ€”no phones, no distractions.
๐Ÿ›‘ Fence it in: Ensure backyard pools are fully secured with a four-sided fence and a self-latching gate.
๐Ÿฆบ Wear life jackets: Weak or non-swimmers should always wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket, not just inflatable water wings.

Let's make it a fun, safe summer, Monmouth County! ๐ŸŒŠ
