***MEMORIAL DAY PARADE***

This past Monday, 50+ members and employees of Freehold EMS attended the annual Freehold Borough Memorial Day Parade.
Members reported for breakfast, crew assignments, and event briefing at 8am before departing the station for the parade lineup and response staging locations along the parade route.

To enhance event coverage while ensuring our ability to respond to routine 911 calls through the Borough and Township, mutual aid EMS assets were requested from our friends at Millstone Township Fire Department and Elberon First Aid Squad to assist with covering various points on the parade route.

Thank you to Millstone FD EMS and Elberon EMS for their assistance and a special thank you to the Freehold EMS Auxiliary for supplying breakfast.

***3RD ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE***

Friday May 8th, at approximately 12:05pm, Freehold EMS units were requested into East Freehold Township for reported structure fire. Based on multiple 911 calls and confirmed active fire reported by the initial arriving police officers with the Freehold Township Police Department, the box alarm was transmitted bringing all Freehold companies, Freehold EMS, and mutual aid companies to the scene.

With several medical calls already active, Chief 1550 and BLS 1561 responded on the initial dispatch. Upon arrival of the chief, the EMS All Call was transmitted requesting off duty personnel to respond with a 3rd and 4th BLS unit to the scene.
During the early phases of the incident, on scene EMS personnel transported a patient to an area hospital for evaulation. Shortly after, two additional Freehold EMS ambulances responded to the scene to provide incident EMS coverage as the incident reached the 3rd alarm.

The incident rehab trailer, supplied by gcfc261 was requested and responded to the scene along with Marlboro Emergency Medical Services ensuring the adequate presence of EMS personnel on location.

In total, FEMS units operated for about three hours before being released by incident command. Four of our ambulances were staffed during this incident. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

On Thursday, April 30th around 4:20pm, Freehold EMS units were alerted to respond to the downtown area at the Freehold Public Library for a reported shooting. BLS 1559 arrived to find a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound resulting in significant injury and required rapid emergency care. After clearing another assignment, BLS 1557 also responded to the scene to assist with patient care and removing the victim from the building to the ambulance.
