From the legendary decks of the battleship USS Missouri (BB-63) overlooking the solemn waters of the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Chaplain Russ Hembel and Master Chief Select Ryan Brown pay tribute to the brave men and women of America’s Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This Memorial Day, we remember that liberty has never been free. It has been secured through extraordinary courage, selfless service, and lives laid down in defense of others.

Beginning Easter Sunday 1945, amid the devastation of the Battle of Okinawa, thousands gave their lives in one of the war’s deadliest conflicts, a sobering reminder of the true cost of freedom. In this Easter message, Russ reflects on the words of Christ—“No greater love than a man lays down his life for his friends”—honoring their sacrifice and calling us to live life to the fullest.

Happy 250th Birthday, United States Marine Corps!

Today, the Marine Corps Mustang Association proudly celebrates 250 years of honor, courage, and commitment. From 1775 to the present day, Marines have answered our Nation’s call—defending freedom and upholding the values that define our Corps.

As Mustangs, we take special pride in the journey from enlisted Marine to officer, carrying forward the experience, grit, and leadership that make our Corps strong. We honor those who paved the way, those who serve today, and those who will continue our proud legacy.
