🚨This just in...NEW BOROUGH WIDE CONTEST TO CELEBRATE THE 250th in our little Community!!!

The City of Bethlehem & Freemansburg Borough Council have given permission for Borough Residents who have a fire hydrant on their property, to take part in a Borough wide contest of PAINTING THE HYDRANT ON YOUR PROPERTY! This was an activity when the Borough celebrated in 1976, we would like to keep this fun tradition going. Of course there are some necessary rules & guidelines to follow.

1. You can only paint a hydrant IF it is ON YOUR PROPERTY.
If you want a neighbor or two to help, please ask them since not every property has a hydrant. 😉 You are not permitted to paint any other hydrants other than on your property or by written consent of the property owner.

2. If you have a hydrant on your property and you do not want to paint it, but wouldn't mind another resident that doesn't have one on their property to paint it....please e-mail Justine with your address and phone number to coordinate. [email protected]

3. NO political or offensive things are permitted. It will be the Borough's discretion if there any concerns, and will be painted back to yellow. We appreciate the understanding.

4. A drop cloth MUST be placed around it if it is on a sidewalk. Please protect the sidewalks at all costs.

5. Criteria is RED, WHITE, BLUE, STARS, STRIPES, 250TH, ANYTHING AMERICANA!

6. The 250th committee will be judging the contest the week prior to our July 3 Stars & Stripes of America Block Party. The winner of the contest will be announced and prize basket will be delivered to the winner. Pictures of all hydrants will be posted here, please submit pics to [email protected] if you'd like!

7. These will not be painted back to the original yellow until Spring 2027, so have fun with this!

Dine to Donate at TGIFriday's Southmont Way (off Freemansburg Ave) on Thursday June 11, 2026 between 11am-10:00pm. The restaurant gives back 20% of your bill to our Parks & Recreation Dept to help fund Borough Events. Donations will be valid for dine in or take out. Printed flyers will be available at the Borough Office or email request to [email protected] We hope to see you all there!

🥳Day 4 ~ 250th Block Party Food Vendor Spotlight!
Friday July 3 ~ 1pm-9pm

🥩STEAK'D UP ⬆️ a HUGE fan fave at our Fall Fest in 2025. They are known as the Home of the 2LB Cheesesteak! Yep you heard it right....2lbs! They'll have cheesesteaks of course, hot dogs, & walking tacos.

🌮 MASA TACO will be joining us-new to Borough events we are looking forward to this family owned truck who uses 6 decade old recipes that have been passed down. They will be serving up a menu of tacos, rice bowls, fajitas, taco salads made in a homemade shell and more.

🍞🧀 FLAT GRILL CHEESE will be present with grilled cheese sandwiches, lemonade and cinnamon rolls. We are excited to have them join us this year. Locally owned and

🤩Day 3- 250th Block Party Food Vendor Spotlight!
Friday July 3 ~ 1pm-9pm

🥰CHRIST LUTHERN CHURCH, or as us "Freemansburg-ers" call it, the "red church" at 302 Main St, will have some delicious Meatball Sandwiches, hot dogs, baked goods. They will also have some fun things for the kiddos such as crafts & games, bracelets, birdhouses, plants, and more. All proceeds from their sales will go to a veteran type non-profit to be decided! BONUS! They will also have tours of the historic church built in 1908!

🍿KLINES KERNELS will be popping up their delicious fresh popped, sweet & salty kettle corn! They have been at a few other Borough events, definitely a fan favorite we are happy to have again. Can you smell it already???

Friday 7/3/26 ~ 1pm-9pm

Another one of our own, CHERRY'S CARIBBEAN PALACE will be set up serving up her amazing Caribbean favorites. Miss Cherry will be set up right outside her door at 415 Main St. 🥦🥓🫔🍛🥩

Next up is a community favorite, THE UDDER BAR serving up summer favorites such as ice cream, shakes, waffles, brownie sundaes, lava cakes/with ice cream and more! The UDDER BAR has a store located at 1852 W Allen St, Allentown, with award winning homemade ice cream 7 years in a row! 🍦🍨🧋

First...one of our own, PORTUGALIA BBQ of 324 Main St will be set up right in front of their restaurant with all of their best sellers. If you haven't tried their food yet, you should! 🥩🍗

Second...HOUSE OF INFINITY will be present with a large assortment of baked goods, bakery style cookies, cake pops, chocolate covered treats including pretzels, Oreos, an rice Krispy treats, and cupcake flights! 🧁🍪🍬

Freemansburg 250th committee is seeking a Borough resident who is interested in singing the National Anthem during our block party on July 3, 2026. We are also seeking a resident (or family/friend) that can play Taps on the trumpet for our special Veteran's Salute.🇺🇸
