Stephenson County property tax bills will be mailed directly from the printer on May 20th.

1st installment due date is June 26th
2nd installment due date is September 4th

On May 26th, the tax bills will populate online here: https://stephensonil.devnetwedge.com/ and will be available to both print and pay directly. Banks will also begin accepting payments on May 26th. Additionally, there is a QR code on the back side of each payment coupon for easy online payment.

The tax bill format is different this year, and it contains a lot of important information. PLEASE READ YOUR ENTIRE BILL - BOTH SIDES - WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT. In the meantime, please review the images here for information.

QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT
We are in the very early stages of creating, testing, and balancing Stephenson County tax bills. If you've used our InvoiceCloud system previously to make any kind of electronic payment, you MAY have received what appear to be invoices for property taxes. This is a test of email addresses only. THESE ARE NOT ACTUAL INVOICES, SO PLEASE DISREGARD THEM.

We expect to have our printer mail the hard copy bills during the third week of May, with the first installment due date being June 26th.

Watch this page for additional updates as we progress toward tax bill completion.

Certified delinquent notices were mailed Friday and are being received by most people today. We are legally obligated to send these notices as a final attempt to reach those with unpaid taxes.

The last day to make a payment with a personal check is this Wednesday, October 22nd. The absolute last day to pay taxes before the tax sale is Tuesday, November 4th.

If you are relying on the mail to beat that deadline, please don't. We continue to experience numerous difficulties with the mail processing centers, in turn leading to extended mail delivery delays.

If we don't have payments in hand on November 4th, we are required to see those unpaid taxes.

Please call the office with any questions at 815-235-8264.

I'm terribly sorry. We're experiencing an extended outage at the datacenter where the wEdge sites are hosted and are working with the provider to resolve it. We currently do not have an ETA from them for resolution.

Last reminder that taxes are due Friday!!

If paying by mail, please don’t wait until Friday to mail your check. USPS postmarks are no longer likely to reflect the date you mailed it - unless you go into the post office and ask them to stamp the date in front of you.

If paying online, please consider making a payment today rather than tomorrow.

Thank you.
