We're a Read ME participating library! Read ME is Maine Humanities Council’s statewide community read offered in partnership with Maine State Library and Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Every summer, the program gets Mainers all reading books by Maine authors.

Folks participating in our Adult Summer Reading program will notice that they earn bonus raffle tickets for reading these books, so give 'em a go! 📖

Folks, to say we're excited about the most recent addition to our Library of Things collection is an understatement! Thanks to the generosity of The Spice & Tea Exchange of Freeport, we now have a Chef’sChoice 15XV Professional Electric Knife Sharpener for patrons to borrow. Give us a call to place it on hold for you. 🔪

Please note the borrower must be a FCL patron aged 18 or older with an account in good standing (no unresolved bills); please be aware that courtesy Teacher and Student cards are not eligible to borrow Things.

Coming June 1st - Get outdoors with our new Maine GearShare pass!

Living in Maine, we are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful natural spaces and opportunities for outdoor recreation. These spaces offer many opportunities to explore, and Maine GearShare works to make those experiences more accessible. As a nonprofit gear library, they provide outdoor equipment for activities like camping, hiking, and more, helping to reduce the cost barrier of getting outside.

With this new pass, library cardholders can borrow outdoor gear through Maine GearShare for up to 2 adults and 4 children. Whether you’re planning a weekend camping trip, trying hiking for the first time, or simply looking to spend more time outdoors, Maine GearShare makes it easier to get started.
We’re proud to offer this resource to support wellness, sustainability, and access to Maine’s natural spaces.
