This past weekend we stood by for a couple of hours with Heavy Rescue 217-2 and Ambulance 219 at the Nautical Mile Festival.

Despite today’s rain and the uncertainty of tomorrow’s Memorial Day parade Company members still took the time this morning to prep both rigs regardless as you can’t do away with or wash out Company pride.

May we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms - the true definition of Patriots.

At this month’s Company meeting our senior man Honorary Chief Artie Boulukos was presented his plaque marking 65 years of service to the Freeport Fire Department and Village of Freeport. We thank Artie for everything he has done, continues to do and wish him many more years.

Last week members of Hose 4 attended the Nassau County United Memorial Service which is held every year to remember the members of the Nassau County fire service that passed away in the year prior. This year the event was hosted by the Glen Cove Fire Department and Honorary Chief Richie Grempel who we lost in June of 2025 was among the names read off.

On Saturday, April 25th the Freeport Fire Department held its annual installation dinner at which the Department’s Chief and Line Officers were installed into office.

The Officers and Members of Hose 4 would like to congratulate and wish the best of luck to Diego Pinzon who be leading the Company as Captain and Daniel Pinzon our 1st Lieutenant. We’d also like to thank Randy Aguirre who led the Company as Captain over the past year and will be our 2nd Lieutenant.

Lastly, we’d like to wish luck to Chiefs Burkart, Gordon, Rodriguez, and Stevens and look forward to working with them in the year ahead. Congratulations to Chief Anthony Sotira for having completed his term in office.
