Freeport District Library Welcome to the Freeport District Library. We are located in Freeport, Michigan. We serve the citizens of Carlton and Irving townships.

Freeport District Library is a member of the Lakeland Library Cooperative and the Michigan eLibrary(MEL.org). Patrons have access to books, audiobooks, movies and magazines. Patrons have access to free downloadable ebooks and audiobooks through our Overdrive subscription. Free Wi Fi is available at the library as well as access to public computers. We offer copy (.15 each) and fax(.25 each) servic

es. We have childrens' programming throughout the year which includes pre-school storytime, summer reading program, as well as other special events. Join our monthly adult book discussion group or our winter reading program! Check out our web page or visit us at the library for more information.

We have been getting questions about why the library is on the August 4th ballot for a millage. The tax payers of Carlton & Irving Townships including the Village of Freeport approved a 10 year, .5 mill millage in 2016 that funds a large part of the library's operating expenses. That millage expires Dec. 31, 2026. Please contact the library with any questions you have about this millage.

If you don't know what to do with these padded envelopes, the library could use them. They have to be the plastic bubble padded kind. We ship books through the Michigan E-Library to libraries all over the state of Michigan, so to protect them we need medium to large size bubble padded envelopes. If we aren't open, you can put them in the outside book return. Thanks!!!
