❤ Hearts Behind Head Start 💙
Meet Carrie Coffee. Carrie’s Head Start journey began as a parent when all three of her children attended the program. She became involved with Policy Council, serving as President, and volunteered in the classroom. It was through these experiences that Carrie discovered her passion for helping children and families—and a career in Head Start was born.
For the past 22 years, Carrie has served Head Start in a variety of roles, including Teacher Assistant, Lead Teacher, Health & Nutrition Manager, and now ERSEA, Transportation, & Data Manager. Along the way, she earned her CDA, an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Highland Community College, and credentials in ERSEA and Data Management Systems.
Carrie loves meeting families, building relationships, and helping them feel welcomed and supported throughout their Head Start journey. She created the Superhero Attendance Club to celebrate children who make regular attendance a priority and believes every child deserves the opportunity to get the most from their preschool experience.
Whether she’s connecting with families in the community, supporting enrollment, managing program data, or helping ensure children have access to preschool, Carrie brings the same dedication and heart to everything she does. Her experience as both a Head Start parent and employee gives her a special connection to the families she serves and a genuine passion for making a difference in their lives.
