VOICES of Stephenson County VOICES of Stephenson County is a not-for-profit, inclusive organization.

The organization welcomes all victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. VOICES began as a YWCA (Young Women Christian Association) in 1917 in Freeport, Illinois. In 1982, the YWCA established the VOICES program out of the organization’s desire to eliminate domestic violence in Stephenson County. In October 2005, the VOICES program incorporated as a separate not-for-profit organi

zation under the name of VOICES DV. The VOICES Book Nook, a used bookstore located in the Lincoln Mall, was launched in 2010 to help support the agency’s operations and direct services. In July 2014, with the closing of Assault & Abuse Services of Stephenson County, VOICES DV began offering advocacy and therapy services to victims of sexual assault and abuse in Stephenson County as well as prevention education for students. Today the organization provides a wide variety of coordinated services to over 400 adults and children in Stephenson County.

It's only six more days until the VOICES Fall Mum Sale at Lincoln Mall in Freeport. You can expect to find mums like these getting ready to burst into full bloom. (And, yes, these photos were taken at last year's sale!) You will find white, purple, yellow, red and orange mums for just $13 each.

The sale is open from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 9, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.Sept. 10 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11. We accept, cash, checks, and credit and debit cards.

Anticipation is starting to build! The VOICES Fall Mum Sale is only a week away!

In seven short days, you will be able to browse among 1,000 beautiful mums and select yours to take home. We will have white, purple, yellow, red and orange mums to choose from -- all selling for just $13 each. Plus, they will be labeled with the color on the outside.

Come see us at Freeport's Lincoln Mall, We will be in the first storefront on the right. See you there!

VOICES' Fall Mum Sale is just nine days away, and our yard signs advertising the sale are now popping up around town. These are a sure sign that you should shop the sale.

Join us at Lincoln Mall from from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 10 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 for the sale. The mums are big and beautiful and a deal at $13 each. See you there!

VOICES of Stephenson County is excited to launch our FIRST EVER Youth Advisory Council, and we want youth voices at the center of it!

Join us for an informational meeting to learn more about the Youth Advisory Council, what being a member could look like, and how youth can use their ideas, experiences, and voices to help shape the future of VOICES prevention programming and create a safer community.

Wednesday, September 9th
5:00 PM–6:00 PM
Freeport Public Library
100 E. Douglas St., Freeport, IL 61032

This meeting is open to parents and youth ages 9–17 who are interested in learning more. Whether you have participated in Camp VOICES, been part of other VOICES prevention programs, or are simply looking for a way to get involved and make a difference in your community, you are welcome!

Attending the meeting does NOT mean you are committing to joining the council. This meeting is purely informational and is an opportunity for youth and parents to ask questions, learn what the Youth Advisory Council will involve, and decide if it might be a good fit.

No previous involvement with VOICES is required. We would love to see you there and hear what the next generation of community leaders has to say!

Some of our youngest survivors would appreciate your support right away. We urgently need Size 7 diapers and Size 3T pull-ups. These sizes currently are in demand and our supply is running very, very low. If you could help out, we and our survivors would appreciate it.

The countdown is under way. The VOICES Fall Mum Sale starts in just two weeks!!

We will be opening the doors in the former Everything Home space at Freeport's Lincoln Mall at noon Sept. 9 to offer beautiful white, yellow, purple, red and orange mums for just $13 each. The sale runs from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 9, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 10 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11.

It's the same grower as last year with the same beautiful mums, pictured below. You won't find a better deal. Come early for best selection.
