This month’s spotlight shines on Uptown Hair Studio.

For the past 22 years, Uptown Hair Studio has been helping women in our community look and feel their very best.

Owner Gwen Shaw grew up right here in the Freeport community. What began as a dream quickly grew into a thriving business built on passion, hard work, and a love for serving others.

In 2012, Gwen and her husband, Nicholas, took the next big step by purchasing land and building the beautiful custom salon that Uptown Hair Studio calls home today.

Over the years, Uptown has expanded beyond hair services to include a beautiful selection of women’s clothing, creating a unique experience where clients can refresh their style from head to toe.

It is normal to see discolored water. If you do notice your water looks rusty, run your cold tap until it clears and make sure water is clear before washing whites.

The City Office will be closed on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day.

We honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.

BIDDERS NOTICE
The City will be accepting closed bids on the following:
Red 2000 GMC C8500 Chassis Truck
9,155 miles
1,062 hours
5-speed manual, gasoline

This is a chassis only that was taken out of service from the fire department. Very well taken care of and in great shape.

If interested, please drop off or mail a sealed bid to Freeport City Hall, PO Box 301, Freeport, MN 56331, prior to Tuesday, May 26, 2026 @ 4pm. All bids must have a description of the truck being bid on clearly labeled on the front.

Bids will be opened and considered by City Council at our May 26 meeting that starts at 7pm. Council reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.
