Today, the Freer Police Department had the privilege of recognizing students from each grade level at Lucy Aragon Junior High School who demonstrated perfect attendance. Students were presented with gift cards as a small token of appreciation for their dedication, commitment, and hard work throughout the school year.

We congratulate all of the students and encourage them to continue striving for success both inside and outside the classroom.

A special thank you to Principal Hinojosa and staff for allowing us to be a part of this recognition.

Earlier today, the Freer Police Department participated in the Texas Department of Transportation’s “Click It or Ticket” event in Laredo, Texas, joining agencies and community partners from across the region in an effort to promote safe driving behaviors and increase seat belt awareness.

This event marked the largest TxDOT traffic safety campaign event of the year and was held in partnership with Doctors Hospital of Laredo.

The Freer Police Department remains committed to roadway safety, traffic enforcement, and educating the public on the importance of wearing seat belts and driving responsibly.

We appreciate TxDOT and all participating agencies and partners for their continued efforts in keeping Texas roadways safe.

This week, the Freer Police Department had the opportunity to participate in Career Day at Norman Thomas Elementary. Our officers enjoyed speaking with the students about law enforcement. It was a great experience getting to interact with so many bright students and answer their questions about what we do each day.

Thank you to the staff at Norman Thomas Elementary for inviting us to take part in such a wonderful event. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with the students and be a part of their learning experience.
