MAGNIFICENT OAKS
Oak trees are a cornerstone of California's native plant community, significantly enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Historic California Nursery. Regrettably, we lost one of these majestic trees on Tuesday. Due to a substantial crack propagating down the trunk, the City of Fremont deemed it necessary to remove the tree. Although we are relieved that the tree did not collapse and cause injury or property damage, we lament the void left behind. Nevertheless, this loss presents an opportunity for renewal, and we look forward to creating a new feature in the garden.

The Butterfly Garden at the California Nursery Garden has reached its full potential following numerous hours of meticulous design, planning, and planting. Please visit to appreciate its beauty and observe the various winged creatures that have discovered this new assortment of vibrant flowers.

A single moment in time can greatly enhance one's day, filling it with joy. We captured nature in action as these two hummingbirds enjoyed a refreshing splash at the fountain on the great lawn.
Today, from 9am-12pm, the Garden Club will host its final pop-up plant fundraiser for July. Take advantage of this opportunity to acquire a specialty Cape Primrose before they are no longer available and explore a variety of discounted plants and plant arrangements. We look forward to welcoming you as you enjoy this exceptional park.

Have you visited the California Nursery Garden Club’s new Butterfly Garden? Plantings are currently underway, but we have already observed butterflies exploring the area and our native bees are enthusiastically buzzing around. If you attend our Thursday pop-up Fundraiser this morning, you will have the opportunity to purchase our Cape Primroses in bloom. These specialty plants, known for their vibrant purple blooms, and are particularly rare. We look forward to seeing you at the garden. Fundraiser 9am-12pm only.
