The Office of Economic Development is dedicated to providing the community with a strong, diverse, and adaptable economy where businesses can be successful in the global marketplace and where residents and visitors can enjoy high-quality retail amenities. In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, this department:
• Provides assistance to locate and grow business in Fremont
• Proactiv

ely communicates with the business community, including emerging technology companies and quality retail and dining establishments, to promote Fremont as the location of choice
• Serves as an ombudsman to the business community in an effort to expedite and streamline regulatory processes
• Produces marketing and communications strategies and materials to promote Fremont as a great place to live, work, and play
• Hosts and sponsors a variety of workshops and seminars to help Fremont businesses grow
• Works collaboratively with state and regional organizations as well as existing local firms to strengthen Fremont's position in the global economy

Fremont's 14th Annual Manufacturing Week was a great success! Nearly 500 K-12 and college students participated in 16 facility tours at advanced manufacturing companies throughout Fremont, showcasing the breadth of innovation and technology across our semiconductor, electronics, cleantech, AI, and robotics sectors. Manufacturing Week is an opportunity for students to learn about career pathways and engage with seasoned industry professional, inspiring our next generation of leaders to pursue careers in manufacturing. Thank you to all our industry and academic partners who participated!

Join us for Downtown Dog Days Fall Edition on Saturday, October 4, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Fremont Downtown Event Center Plaza, located at 3500 Capitol Ave.

This free, family-friendly event is a celebration of our four-legged friends and a great way to connect with the community. Enjoy dog handling demonstrations, training sessions, dog-themed crafts, live music, food trucks, local vendors, pet adoptions, and a low-cost pet vaccination clinic.

Join us, NBC Bay Area, and the Tri City Animal Shelter this Saturday from 5 to 9 PM at the Fremont Downtown Event Center Plaza (3500 Capitol Ave.) for a tail-wagging good time! This FREE, family-friendly event features hands-on dog-themed crafts, local vendors, live music, food trucks, dog adoptions, dog handling demonstrations and trainings, and a low-cost pet vaccination clinic. Come celebrate our four-legged friends and connect with the community! 100 lucky dogs will get a free Ben & Jerry’s doggy ice cream🐾

Home to leading AI and EV companies, the 400,000 square foot campus reinforces Fremont’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and technology. On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the heart of Downtown Fremont came alive with innovation and energy as community members, students, and industry leaders gathered for the 2nd Annual Fremont Engineering Expo! In partnership with Fremont Unified School District and Mission Valley ROP, this free, family-friendly event at the Downtown Event Center was a vibrant celebration of creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology.

Attendees explored an impressive showcase of engineering projects from local students, whose hands-on displays were innovative. The event not only spotlighted the talent of Fremont’s future engineers but also strengthened ties between education, industry, and the local community.

Thanks to everyone who made the 2025 Engineering Expo such a success. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next year!
