Fremont, we need many hands on Saturday, September 12!

Rock the Block is a morning of neighborhood beautification and repair projects—bringing volunteers together to serve a local veteran and strengthen the surrounding neighborhood.

No construction experience needed. There is a place for everyone, whether you can paint, clean up, carry supplies, help with landscaping, or simply show up ready to serve.

📍 Check in at 141 S. Union St., Fremont
🥞 7:30 AM — Pancake breakfast
🦺 8:15 AM — Safety briefing and projects begin
🍽️ Lunch provided at noon

Bring a friend, your family, your church group, or your coworkers. Let’s show what Fremont can do when many hands come together.

Do you know someone who lives in this neighborhood? Help us make sure they see this!

On Saturday, September 12, Rock the Block volunteers will be helping with light exterior home repairs and yard projects in the neighborhood between:

📍 1st Street and Dodge Street
📍 Union Street and Bell Street

The work is absolutely free, made possible through grant funding and community partnerships.

Think about the people you know in this neighborhood. Is there an older neighbor struggling to keep up? A family that could use an extra set of hands? Someone who would never ask for help on their own?

Please don’t assume someone else will tell them.

✅ Tag them
✅ Send them this post
✅ Message our page privately—please don’t post someone else’s address in the comments
✅ Share this post, even if you don’t live in the neighborhood

One share could help us reach the exact neighbor we’re looking for.

We played this video at our event, and hearing directly from the kids just hits a little differently.

We talk a lot about affordable housing—about homeowners, construction, volunteers, mortgages, and the work it takes to build a home. But I truly believe it’s the kids who may benefit the most.

A safe, stable, affordable home gives a child a place to sleep, to study, to play, to grow, and to simply be a kid. It gives families room to breathe and children a foundation they can carry with them long after the house is built.

To every donor, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who makes this work possible: thank you.

You aren’t just helping build houses. You are changing the lives of kids and giving families opportunities that can last for generations.

Take a few minutes and listen to them. They tell the story better than we ever could. ❤️
A special thank you to Brian Park for the awesome drone footage.

We are so grateful for the people who take the time to bring food for our volunteers on Saturdays. A good meal goes a long way after a morning of building, repairing, and serving together.

And here’s the best part: there are so many ways to support Habitat, even if construction isn’t your thing.

Although… it probably should be. 😄 No experience necessary! We’ll show you what to do.

Whether you bring a meal, swing a hammer, volunteer at the ReStore, support a project, or simply help spread the word, there’s a place for you at Habitat. Every contribution helps us build homes, community, and hope.
