Yesterday, some members of the Fremont NH Fire Rescue Department attended Fremont's Annual Memorial Day activities to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer, it's a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

From all of us at the Fremont Fire Rescue Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families. May we never forget their sacrifice.

LODD: Robert Kilduff Jr., a 24-year veteran of the Boston Fire Department, responded to a three-alarm fire Saturday night on Treadway Road. Crews had knocked down the heavy fire in the triple-decker when a mayday call went out when Kilduff fell from the third floor of the home.

In addition to being a firefighter on Rescue 2, he also spent years serving his country in the U.S. Marines.

Our thoughts are with his children, extended family, and all of his brothers and sisters in the BFD.

Yesterday,Fremont NH Fire Rescue Departmentt responded to a pickup truck fire on Whittier Drive near Sandown Road. Upon arrival, crews found that the fire had extended into the adjacent grass area. Engine 1’s crew acted quickly to contain the spread of the fire while extinguishing both the vehicle and the surrounding grass fire. No injuries were reported.

Fremont NH Fire Rescue Department is responding to a vehicle fire on Whittier Drive, near Sandown Road. Please avoid the area and pull to the right shoulder, and STOP for any emergency vehicles including firefighters responding to the firehouse in their vehicles or directly to the scene and fire trucks responding to the vehicle fire itself.

LODD: 27-year old, Firefighter Andrew Cross. Last Alarm 5/15/2026.

Our thoughts are with Cross's family and friends, and his brothers and sisters in the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department.

Our thoughts are also with the other firefighters and personnel of the lumber yard who were burned and/or injured during yesterday's tragic fire.

Fremont NH Fire Rescue Department's Forestry 1, with a crew of 2, were on scene yesterday at Deerfield's 5-alarm Brush Fire.
