The Little Library will be established at the Fremont Town Hall
The Little Libraries were initiated one year ago after The Partnership for Children brainstormed ways to get books into children’s hands.
We reached out to the Goldsboro News Argus about getting one box to put at the Partnership office and in return were given 4 boxes.
After getting six boxes and finding out that the News Argus was moving offices, we were asked if we wanted additional boxes where we received 8 more boxes. Upon seeing our social post about the boxes and plans for the boxes, a community member reached out to Dawson’s Collision and Glass and Joey and his team agreed to refurbish 6 boxes for The Partnership for Children. After Valerie Wallace, our Executive Director, saw how much hard work and time this project took, she gave the project to me to finish. After, I met with her and her team and looked at their vision. My nana and I began working out of her little shop on 6 boxes ourselves. Donna Stroud was a big donor to this project where she donated her time, expertise, tools, knowledge, paint, and stickers for all 6 boxes we took over. We currently have a total of 4 boxes completed and 2 that are active. After the reveal we will have 3 out of the 4 active and we are so excited. The goal here is to have all 12 boxes complete and active in Wayne County and surrounding areas.
Thanks,
Logan
