Get to know the real Abraham Lincoln!

Join us at the Dublin Library on Saturday, October 24 at 3 pm for a talk about President Abraham Lincoln.

Professor Gerald Henig will uncover the life and presidency of Abraham Lincoln, separating fact from fiction. Learn about Lincoln as a son, husband, and father, as well as his roles as president, commander in chief, politician, and communicator.

About the speaker: Gerald S. Henig is professor emeritus of history at California State University, East Bay. He has written three books and many articles about American history. His latest book, America's Presidents: What Your History Teacher Never Told You, was named “Best Indie Book of 2024” by Kirkus Reviews.

What does the right to read mean to you? If you’re under 18 years old, be a part of the Banned Books Week Bookmark Contest. Draw or write something inspired by the theme. One winner will be selected from each age group:

• Ages 0–7
• Ages 8–13
• Ages 14–17

Your design could be our next bookmark! Pick up a bookmark sheet at any AC Library location and enter the contest by Sunday, November 1.
