AC Library’s Plant and Cutting Swap is coming to Dublin Library! Join us on Saturday, September 12 from 2-4 pm to share and swap with other gardeners in the community.

Bring your:
• house plant cuttings
• extra plants or seed starts
• succulents
• bulbs or tubers

All types of plants are welcome! Please label each plant and be ready to share basic care information.

In the meantime, enjoy photos from our recent storytime! California State University, East Bay Graduate student Coral reads “They Build Me for Freedom” in celebration of Juneteenth. This is a book about resilience, shared dreams, and fighting for justice.

It’s back-to-school time! Dublin Library will host two School Up sessions this month. High school students and families are invited to join us for two special sessions designed to help you prepare for what’s to come after graduation!

• Beyond High School on August 22 from 2–4 pm. Recent high school graduates, college students, and esteemed college deans will share tips on choosing a major, succeeding in college, and building meaningful connections.
• Ace Your Application on August 23 from 2–4 pm. Get help navigating the UC/CSU process, find essay advice, and explore financial aid costs.

AC Library is proud to congratulate Krish*ta Kataria of Dublin! She was named the 2026 Alameda County Youth Poet Laureate! We also congratulate Tatiana Hernandez of Dublin who was named the 2026 Vice Youth Poet Laureate!

This year’s winners were announced at an awards ceremony on August 8 at Castro Valley Library. Krish*ta and Tatiana were chosen through a countywide poetry competition held in April during National Poetry Month.

For one year, the Laureate and Vice Laureate will serve as ambassadors, inspiring civic engagement, social justice, and literary excellence.

Congratulations to our winners and finalists! Your words help us see the world in new ways and imagine what is possible.
