Sandusky County EMS

Sandusky County EMS Sandusky County EMS (SCEMS) is a 24 hour operation proudly servicing Sandusky County.

Sandusky County Emergency Medical Services (SCEMS) originated in 1975 and operates five stations / ambulances across 390 square miles of Sandusky County. These ambulances are responsible for all BLS and ALS transports generated from calls made to 911 (no private or scheduled transports). Mutual aid and rehab is provided for all fire departments, the Sandusky County Dive Team and Haz-Mat team. Fund

ing for SCEMS comes from a .25 % of the sales tax collected in Sandusky County and also the revenue collected from transport services. The system consists of an EMS Chief, (who reports to the Board of Commissioners), an EMS Clerical Specialist, 4 Captains, 24 full time and 5 part time paramedics. Each of the 4 stations consists of 6 paramedics whose work schedule is structured into a 24 hour on, 48 hours off rotation with 2 Paramedics working per shift at each station. SCEMS believes in maintaining good Public Relations with the citizens of Sandusky County. This is accomplished through various Public Relation Events the system participates in throughout the year such as standing by during football games, cross country meets and The Sandusky County Fair to visiting schools, businesses and community events for demonstrations and speaking engagements.
