HCGP and our partners at City of Bellevue and Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation had the chance to visit last week, and wow is it impressive to see the largest hump yard in the East in person. We met with Operations and Industrial Development leaders and hammered home the point that assets like this give our region a strategic advantage for doing business.

We’re excited to share that a new Gibsonburg Pharmacy will be opening at 241 W. Madison St., restoring local access to medications, clinical services, and wellness programs after nearly two years without a hometown pharmacy.

This project is made possible through a partnership between the Village of Gibsonburg,Ohio, SCEDC, local investors, a Vibrant Communities Grant from JobsOhio and the Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio, and a Small Business Grant from the Village. Congratulations to the Village of Gibsonburg on another win towards their downtown revitalization!

Applications have officially opened for Leadership Sandusky County's Class of 2027!

Applications are officially open for the Leadership Sandusky County Class of 2027!

From September through May, participants will:
- Build practical leadership skills
- Connect with current and emerging leaders
- Learn how Sandusky County works – and how to make an impact
Tuition: $850 per participant (SCEDC investors receive a discounted rate of $725)

Yesterday we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of 18 incredible leaders in the Leadership Sandusky County Class of 2026. This was our first class to complete the program since SCEDC took over Leadership Sandusky County in 2025. Over the past year, this group has grown in their leadership, deepened their understanding of Sandusky County, and begun applying new skills in their day-to-day roles to better serve their organizations and our community. It has been an honor getting to know each participant and watching their journeys unfold.

We extend a sincere thank you to the employers who sponsored members of this year’s class and made their participation possible: Croghan Colonial Bank, Great Lakes Community Action Partnership, Whirlpool Corporation, Mosser Construction, Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities, First National Bank of Bellevue, Terra State Community College, Kuns Northcoast Security, Sandco Industries, ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Martin Marietta, and others who supported this cohort along the way.
