Today is National "Donut" Doughnut Day.

National Donut Day or National Doughnut Day, is celebrated on the first Friday of June of each year, succeeding the donut event created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor those of their members who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
A big "Thank You" to The Salvation Army and Denise Dowty for their donation of "Donuts" Doughnuts.

Cpt. Savio had the opportunity to present at the Kids Learning Awareness and Safety Event hosted by Methodist Fremont Health and Three Rivers District Health Department. This event is designed for kids ages 9 to 12 and covers a variety of safety-related topics.

His presentation focused on stranger awareness and safety, followed by a question-and-answer session. Cpt. Savio shared insights about his career, what a typical day is like as a police officer, and answered a number of fun questions as well.

Our favorite question: “Why are cops bald?” Unfortunately, he did not have a good answer. 🤣

In response to complaints our officers have been diligently working to enforce truck route violations. Broad St being closed has created a detour which is marked both South of Fremont and along Broad St at both Military Ave and 23rd St.

It has recently come to our attention regarding concerns about unlicensed food vendors operating within the city. We just wanted to point out that there is a city ordinance that addresses this and provides requirements for obtaining a food vendor license. City Ordinance 10-213 indicates the requirement for the food vendor license and subsequent ordinances lay out further details.

Será ilegal que cualquier persona venda, ofrezca para la venta o proporcione alimentos, según se definen en esta sección, como un vendedor de alimentos móvil y opere como un vendedor de alimentos móvil dentro de la cuidad, a menos que dicha persona cumpla con los requisitos y regulaciones de esta sección, incluyendo tener una licencia de vendedor de alimentos móvil válida y activa emitida por el Administrador de Licencias bajo esta sección.

Cualquier licencia o permiso emitido por el Administrador de Licencias deberá ser llevado por el titular de la licencia siempre que esté realizando la venta. Las insignias de identificación y los certificados de inspección sanitaria también deberán estar debidamente y visiblemente exhibidos en todo momento durante la operación del negocio de venta.

Se considerará que una placa de identificación está debidamente exhibida cuando esté colocada en la prenda exterior del vendedor y sea claramente visible para el público y los funcionarios de la ley. A menos que se especifique lo contrario en el artículo o sección particular por la cual la persona sea condenada por violación, la pena por tal infracción será cualquier cantidad que no exceda de mil dólares ($1,000.00) y/o encarcelamiento por cualquier periodo que no exceda de tres (3) meses, a discreción del tribunal. Cada día que dicha violación o incumplimiento de realizar tal acto continúe constituirá un delito separado, a menos que se disponga específicamente lo contrario

Officers are diligently working the truck routes to address citizen's complaints. Just today two semi-trucks have been stopped for being off of the truck route, and yes, we realize there have been more.

Per Fremont City Ordinance Sec. 5-203. - Truck routes.
Through truck traffic is strictly prohibited, meaning it shall be unlawful for a person to operate a truck within City limits when the point of origin of the truck route and the destination(s) of the truck route are outside of the City's extra territorial jurisdiction.
