Congratulations to Ben Ambrose on winning the Democratic primary to become our nominee for Michigan's 2nd Congressional District. It was a hard-fought primary and I want to thank everyone that supported my campaign and all of the voters, clerks, workers and volunteers who participated in the election. The race ended up being closer than any of us could have predicted last year when we began campaigning. I think that says a lot about the readiness of the people to embrace progressive politics for a candidate like myself to overperform in a rural district. Now that it is August 5th, I am asking all of my supporters to continue their efforts to flip our district blue. In this moment, only my campaign has come to an end; the work has not. The challenges we face in rural MI didn't disappear, and neither has the vision that we all have built together to move this fantastic region we call 'home' forward. Personally, I intend to pause and breathe for a couple of weeks before I continue to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Once again, words can't fully express my gratitude to all of the people in the 2nd Congressional district and all around the state that supported this all-volunteer campaign, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.
