We have just traveled some of the roads in Menifee and they are absolutely treacherous. The snow turned to slush and added with the freezing rain/rain is starting to cause some very serious issues. With temperatures dropping soon, roads will become worse.

Please do not travel unless it is a true emergency.

We do have a crew from the National Guard in the county to assist with cutting trees blocking roadways. We need your patience during this time.

We are aware that part of the county is without electricity and teams are working to restore power as soon as possible.

Be kind, be patient and pray for those working in this weather.

Again, please stay off the roads!

Emergency team leaders met with Judge Alcala and Mayor Smallwood this evening to finalize plans for the upcoming winter storm.

Snow is expected to start tomorrow afternoon.

Warming centers have been identified and will be announced when each location has electricity or an alternative heat source.

Emergency teams strongly encourage you to stay off the roads during the initial part of this event. Travel should be limited to true emergencies.

We want to remind you to stay away from downed power lines and do not cut trees around power lines or attempt to move power lines.

If you need non-emergency assistance, please call Menifee Dispatch at 768-9046.

Menifee Dispatch will create a list of needs by priority and teams will respond when possible.

Please be prepared to stay in your home or a warm location for several days.
