A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Wednesday, 7/15

*Air quality is expected to reach unhealthy levels by Wednesday afternoon with the forecast arrival of Canadian wildfire smoke. “The smoke coming down from Canada will be enough to bring a noticeable haze, smoky smell, and sharp reduction in air quality. It’s likely to get us to at least an AQI of 151 - 200 or more, which is enough for some members of the general public to experience health effects, more than just typically sensitive groups. The wind direction remains similar Thursday, probably keeping smoke around.”

⚠️ WEATHER ALERT: Heavy Rain & Flash Flooding Risk

The National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center has placed eastern Pennsylvania into a Moderate Risk for Excessive Rainfall today into Monday morning.

Scattered to widespread heavy rainfall is expected along a frontal boundary over the northern Mid-Atlantic. Slow-moving storms may repeatedly move over the same areas, producing rainfall rates of over 2 inches per hour at times.

Forecast guidance shows the potential for 3–6 inches of rainfall, with isolated totals of 8+ inches possible in some areas.

The highest concern area includes central to eastern Pennsylvania and portions of central to northern New Jersey, where terrain and more developed areas could increase the risk for flash flooding.

Main concern for eastern Pennsylvania/New Jersey: this evening
That’s when slow-moving storms capable of producing 2+ inches of rain per hour are expected to track across eastern PA and NJ.

Stay weather aware and never drive through flooded roadways.

📢 Great News for Frenchtown!

I am pleased to share that Frenchtown Borough has been awarded a $200,000 state grant to support renovations and improvements to our municipal building as part of the recently signed New Jersey state budget.

This funding will help us make the building more functional while addressing several existing deficiencies, allowing us to better serve our residents for years to come.

We extend our sincere thanks to Senator Shirley Turner for sponsoring a budget resolution on the Borough's behalf after we requested her assistance. Her support was instrumental in securing this important investment for our community.

We look forward to sharing updates as these improvements move forward!
