🍳✨ Hands-on culture and delicious flavors in Khmer class today!
Our students had an amazing time stepping into the kitchen to make Khmer Fried Rice and the traditional dessert Plai Iay (នំផ្លែអាយ)—sweet, soft rice balls filled with palm sugar and coated in fresh coconut, served right on banana leaf boats! 🍌🥥
From preparing the ingredients together to tasting the finished dishes, it was full of big smiles, sweet moments, and great community connection. Nothing brings people together quite like sharing a meal cooked with love! ❤️

What an incredible day at our UKCP Khmer Literacy Program Summer Camp Showcase! We were deeply honored to welcome special guest instructor Sargent Danny Kim for an inspiring presentation on Kun Khmer Martial Arts and Kun Bokator.
Sargent Danny showed our students that preserving our culture is about more than just honoring history—it builds a powerful sense of identity, pride, and belonging.
🥊 Valuable Lessons from Kun Khmer:
Discipline & Respect: Honoring our traditions teaches us to respect ourselves and our community.
Resilience: The martial arts spirit is about staying strong and pushing through life's challenges.
