We were honored to welcome U.S. Senator Adam Schiff to Central California Food Bank for a community roundtable with local leaders, nonprofit partners, educators, agricultural representatives, and advocates working to address hunger across our region.
The conversation focused on the Farm Bill, SNAP/CalFresh, and the need for continued federal support for hunger-relief efforts and food assistance programs. Representatives from organizations including Fresno Mission, Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc., Clovis Community College, CA, Save the Children US, Breaking The Chains, County of Fresno, CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, Tulare County Office of Education, and Nova Farming, shared their perspectives and the needs they are seeing in the communities they serve.
Senator Schiff also had the opportunity to tour our facilities and see the progress being made on our future Volunteer Center, which will help expand our capacity to engage volunteers and support our mission of ending hunger in Central California.
Thank you to Senator Schiff and all of our community partners for participating in this important conversation.
