Chief Schiotis, 144 FW command chief, joined Maintenance Airmen as "crew chief for a day." During his time on the flight line, Schiotis performed prelaunch procedures alongside SSgt Brenden Paradis, crew chief, and others. U.S. Air Force Col. Travis "Plague" Stephens takes command of the 144th Fighter Wing from U.S. Air Force Col. Joel "JP" Pauls during an official change of command ceremony Aug. 2, 2026, at the Fresno Air National Guard Base, Calif.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Steven Butow, California Air National Guard commander, presided over the ceremony. Civilian distinguished visitors in attendance included Congressman Jim Costa, City of Clovis Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua, and Clovis Veterans Memorial District CEO Mr. Lorenzo Rios.
