Once again, Fresno State’s College Mock Trial program is hosting a College Mock Trial Regional Qualifying Tournament to determine which teams will advance to the Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS). We need attorneys and judges to volunteer to serve as judges for each of the 4 rounds of trials that will take place over the weekend of February 21–22, 2026. Each round requires a maximum time commitment of 4 hours. We will provide a complete orientation on how to judge and score before each round and will provide refreshments. The competition will be held on the Fresno State campus, where a map and further instructions will be provided the week of the event. There is nothing you need to review ahead of time to judge effectively. Just arrive at the time listed below for your round’s orientation.
This year’s case follows a reality competition show called The Saboteurs, where a fatal incident occurred during the filming of Season 10. The State of Midlands has charged the defendant Charlie Martin with first degree murder, alleging that they caused the death of Rob Armstrong and did so purposefully, knowingly, or recklessly. During trial, each side will have three attorneys who will call three witnesses and present documentary and physical evidence. You will not be asked to reach a verdict. You will simply score the performances of each team’s attorneys and witnesses.
If you can volunteer to serve as judge/scoring juror for one or more rounds, please complete and this form.
