Miguel Arias, Fresno City Council District 3

Miguel Arias, Fresno City Council District 3 Councilmember Miguel A. Arias, City of Fresno, District 3 This gratification allowed me to focus on my attention in helping improve Fresno Unified.

It is with humility, excitement, and a great sense of responsibility that I formally announce my candidacy for State Center Community College Trustee Area 5. After serving on the Mendota School Board a few years ago I felt personally fulfilled that I had done my small part in paying it forward to our younger generation, as those before us did for us. Additionally, it allowed me to volunteer my tim

e on the board of directors of two non-profit organizations that serve our Central Valley foster kids. Most importantly, these past years gave me the gift of time to invest in my family. Over the years, many of my friends have expressed frustration with long waiting lists and a lottery experience that have become a standard for programs that meet our local high demand industries. Furthermore, I have seen first-hand many of our students spend several years in system that was deigned to transfer them to higher education after two. It is this challenge that I seek your support to pursue. I ask that if I should win that you hold me accountable for fulfilling my goals in improving our community college system so that ALL our kids can benefit.

A new crosswalk has been installed at the intersection of Broadway St & Elizabeth St, improving safety and neighborhood access to Broadway Parque!

Since opening one year ago, Broadway Parque has become a central and vibrant gathering space for the community. In response to residents' request for safer pedestrian access, we worked with the City's Dept. of Public Works to install the crosswalk - which includes a pedestrian-activated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon to alter drivers when someone is preparing to cross.

This is a $55,000 neighborhood investment will help ensure Broadway Parque remains a safe, welcoming space for neighbors to enjoy for many years to come.

New crosswalk at Broadway Parque! 🚶🚲🚘

It has been one year since the opening of Broadway Park, and I am happy to report that we are delivering another highly requested neighborhood improvement, enhancing safety and access to the neighborhood park.

Yesterday, crews began installing new pedestrian infrastructure on Broadway Street. The new crosswalk includes a pedestrian-activated rapid flashing beacon to alert drivers when someone is preparing to cross the road.

The project is expected to be fully complete and operational this week. 🌳
