Eligible Fresno County startups can receive up to $300 toward city or county business license fees through the Business License Reimbursement opportunity.

It’s always a great day when we get to showcase the work happening at the Central Valley Training Center! 🦺🏗️

CVTC recently welcomed local leaders and industry partners for a tour of the training center, providing an opportunity to see firsthand how we’re preparing individuals for careers in the construction industry and connecting our workforce with opportunities throughout the Central Valley.

Joining us for the tour were Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria; Micah Day of IPX; Chuck Riojas of the Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings Building Trades Council; Will Oliver and Danielle Dixon-Oglesby of the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation; and Santiago Pino of the Central Valley Training Center.

Tours like these help strengthen the connection between workforce development, industry, and our local communities. They also create an opportunity to discuss the workforce needs of our region and how programs like CVTC can help prepare local residents for family-sustaining careers.

We appreciate everyone who joined us and took the time to learn more about the work happening at CVTC.

🎉 Building Stronger Connections. Creating More Opportunities.

On July 22, 2026, the Central Valley Training Center (CVTC) proudly hosted it’s first-ever Joint California High-Speed Rail Authority Job Fair in partnership with Valley Apprenticeship Connections (VAC) and Valley Build at the CVTC Training Warehouse.

Together, we welcomed approximately 50 participants, connecting them with employers actively seeking skilled talent and career-ready candidates.

From the classroom to the job site, this is what opportunity in action looks like.

She came into truck driving with determination and a personal connection to the industry. After spending her childhood traveling the country with her mother, life on the road already felt familiar. What stood in her way was not ambition, it was the cost of training.

Through our Good Jobs Challenge federal grant, she was able to attend the SCCCD Training Institute Truck Driver Training Program and earn her CDL.

The road to completion was not easy. With a commute of more than an hour each way, transportation costs added up quickly. Gas card assistance helped ease that pressure so she could stay committed to class and finish strong.

After earning her CDL, she kept moving forward. She went on to earn her Fire Card and is now preparing for fire season in the Central Valley, where she will haul heavy equipment and machinery to support firefighters wherever it is needed most.

Starting a new job often comes with new expenses and required safety gear can be costly. Through the grant funded by JPMorganChase, she received NFPA 1977 certified boots so she can begin the season ready to work.

She shared that this experience has helped her gain confidence and opened doors she once thought were out of reach.

When barriers are removed, people move forward. Congratulations on this incredible milestone!
