San Juan County Health & Community Services (HCS) has released a Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) for the 2026 funding round for the Home Fund program. Applications will be accepted starting June 1, 2026, with response being due no later than July 13, 2026. HCS staff are available for pre-application meetings.

Eligible recipients are nonprofit agencies, housing authorities, private for-profit affordable housing providers, and public agencies.

Applications will be solicited to establish a list of projects for funding in 2026. Eligible activities for this funding round include acquisition, building, rehabilitation, operations and maintenance of housing for very low, low, and moderate-income persons and those with special needs, including both rental and home ownership housing.

San Juan County is making $3,700,000 available for the 2026 funding round, with awards expected to be announced by the San Juan County Council in late Fall 2026.

San Juan County offices will be closed to the public on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Online services are available 24/7 at www.sanjuancountywa.gov.

Offices will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, May 26. Please visit the County’s website to see specific department hours of operations.

Island Rec Children’s Festival “Wonders of Flight” - All ages!

Island Rec’s 34th annual Children’s Festival is this weekend! A fun day of entirely FREE activities, based around this year’s flight theme. Brought to you by Island Rec and many community businesses and organizations.
There will be free hotdogs from Kiwanis, free popcorn, cotton candy and giant inflatables from Island Rec and so much more. Bring something special to screenprint with Alchemy Art Center. Grab a passport when you get there and get a stamp at each booth. When you are done, bring it to the Island Rec tent for an awesome prize and to be entered into a raffle to win a kayaking trip for two on any space-available half day, full day, night paddle or family paddle in 2026/27 with Outdoor Odysseys Kayak Tours.
