Happy Mother's Day

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office would like to take a moment to recognize the mothers and mother-figures across our community.

The work you do isn't easy, and it doesn't end when the day is over. You show up in demanding roles, support the people around you, and still give so much of yourself to your families. That kind of balance takes real strength.

You bring love, care, and perspective to everything you do. It makes a difference and helps shape your families and the people around you.

Wishing you a Mother's Day filled with appreciation and time with those who matter most.

***Reports of jet skis passing through SJI area***

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is receiving multiple calls of jet ski's passing through the area around San Juan island. The sheriffs office is aware of this and it is a group that passes through every year on a journey to Alaska and they are allowed to pass through for their specific purpose.

Thank you to everybody for being alert and calling in, but we are aware and it should not take them long to be out of our area. We hope everybody enjoys the beautiful day today .

Update-Lopez Substation

The move to the new sheriff's office Lopez substation is now complete and our Lopez deputy team is now operating out of the new station. The address for the Lopez substation is 2467 C fisherman Bay Road. The signage is a little hard to see at this time. However, public works is in the process of ordering us signage to be installed.

Eric Peter- Sheriff

Hey, Lopez Island!
WE’RE MOVING!

April 21-23, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, Lopez Substation is getting a new home. After a decade of needing to move out of the bottom floor of the Lopez Fire Station so they can get started on their much-needed renovation, it’s now moving time. The address for the new Sheriff’s Office Lopez Substation will be 2467 C Fisherman Bay Rd. The station will be located on the upper part of the lot behind the public works building and equipment shed.

Moving will be occurring April 21-23 with the amazing help of the Facilities Department and I.T. ensuring all our connections are up and working as the Lopez deputy team moves in. Once our Lopez team is all settled in, the Sheriff’s Office is going to schedule a day for the community to come to the station and see your deputy's new station.

We still have a few things to complete and will be working on getting signage out front and on the building so the station is easy to find for everyone.
