Master Gardeners reached more than 600 community members through Food Bank Share Table outreach, providing vegetable starts, gardening information, and resources that help families grow their own food.
Our SJI Cares Grant proposal will help produce and distribute at least 400 vegetable starts to community members and Food Bank participants. Come see us in the Ag Tent at the Fair! Master Gardeners are here from 10:3-1:30 each day of the fair sharing information about pollinators, native plants, and gardening for a healthy ecosystem. Stop by for free seeds, a fun “‘make a bumble bee” activity! And...learn about our Community Cares Grant "Growing More Food, Growing More Gardeners" project. www.sjicares.org

🌱 Help Us Grow More Food, Grow More Gardeners!

The Master Gardener Foundation of San Juan County is proud to participate in this year's Community Cares Grant Program at the San Juan County Fair, August 13–16.

We're seeking support to expand our Grow Your Own Food program, bringing hands-on gardening and nutrition education to more island residents, youth, families, and Food Bank participants. Last year's demand exceeded capacity, with more than 47 people registered for only 16 available spots.

We're featuring 36 nonprofit projects in this year's campaign. SJICF will match the first $1,000 raised for each project, and there will be daily grant bonus games!
