Early Wednesday, Fridley PD Officer Sam Strong was on patrol when he observed a heavily damaged vehicle with sparks coming from the rear of the vehicle while it was exiting off the interstate (I-694) in Fridley. Officer Strong noticed the driver’s side rear quarter panel/rear bumper was being dragged down the road along with heavily damaged wheels. Even the left rear wheel was pointing in the wrong direction. 😳 The driver was stopped and mentioned she may have struck something. The driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

Hat’s off to Officer Strong for being proactive during his downtime between calls for service and removing this dangerous intoxicated driver off our roadways!

Remember to always plan for a sober ride home. TZD officers will be out all weekend to provide extra traffic enforcement. 🚔 👮‍♂️

Congrats to Blaine PD Officer Tommy Satele!! Keep up the great work!

Yesterday's Pedestrian Enforcement results. As you can see, the majority of motorists/pedestrians only received a verbal warning. Education is key to reminding everyone about our traffic laws in MN. Thank you, Blaine Police Department, for organizing their traffic safety week!
