‼️ City of Friona Public Notice‼️

Xcel Energy has informed the City of Friona of an issue involving the transmission line that feeds electrical power into our community.

For approximately the next week, residents and businesses are being asked to voluntarily reduce electrical use between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day. This will help Xcel Energy manage the system and resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

The biggest way to help is by reducing air-conditioning use during this time. Residents and businesses are encouraged to raise thermostats by 3 to 4 degrees, limit unnecessary appliance use, and turn off lights or equipment that are not needed.

We understand this may be inconvenient, especially during warmer afternoon hours, but even small reductions across the community can make a big difference.
